History
TUSA is one of the original dive equipment manufacturers, founded with a commitment to quality by Kazuo Tabata in Tokyo, Japan in 1952. From the first handmade mask constructed in a garage, TUSA has always been constructed with the finest materials and the utmost attention to detail. Following success in Japan, TUSA began importing their innovative gear to the United States in 1979. Tusa w
as the first to introduce crystal (surgical) silicone mask skirts with the original Liberator mask and introduced the first range of colors to diving with our masks and snorkels. The innovation continues today with our H-1 dive knife, the first stainless steel dive knife guaranteed not to rust. TUSA currently manufacturers a full line of dive equipment from masks and fins to regulators and BCs. TUSA will continue to shape the future of diving as our team is constantly working to improve the scuba and snorkeling experience.

At Tabata our goal has always been to provide our users with innovative equipment of the highest quality. To ensure that quality Tababta has been certified by the International Standards Organization to their ISO 9001 standards for Tabata Japan and ISO 9002 for Ta
bata Taiwan. The ISO certification provides independent assurance of our commitment to developing and manufacturing innovative equipment to the highest international quality standards.
Our regulators are a good example of how we develop and test our equipment before it is received by the diver. We subject all regulators to rigours testing using an ANSTI machine before shipping. We test inhalation and exhalation resistance, work of breathing, and intermediate pressure settings on all regulators. This is our way of assuring our customers that they can rely on TUSA regulators for many years of enjoyable use. This attitude applies not only to regulators, but also our BCJ’s, gauges, and other products.
